June 2nd, 2021: All Dane County COVID Public Health Orders Expire
On June 1st, the Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce posted the following Chamber COVID Recovery Update, which states that all mask mandates and requirements associated with COVID for restaurants and bars have expired and are not currently being pursued to be reinstated.
"With all Dane County public health orders set to expire at 12:01 a.m. tomorrow, June 2, this will be our final Chamber Recovery Update.
From its beginning as a nightly communication in March 2020, to its conclusion as a weekly communication, our goal with the Recovery Update has been to share up-to-the-minute, real-time information with as many businesses and workers as possible. That is why we took the unprecedented step of expanding our email list for this communication to include non-Chamber members – and encouraged recipients to distribute the information widely.
Across 441 days and 67 editions, these updates have served as a detailed guide to Public Health Madison & Dane County orders; 32 Lunch(UP)date programs featuring local, state and federal policymakers and business leaders; timely responses to 99 different employer questions relating to COVID-19 and its impact on business; 24 Virtual Industry Meetings to allow businesses to assess current needs and share projections; Chamber advocacy on behalf of business at all levels of government; and much more. We hope you and your business have found value in this information about the COVID-19 outbreak and our organizational efforts to inform and ensure an effective community response.
We are proud of the work we have accomplished together, but there are still challenges in front of us. Even though the Recovery Update is ending, we will continue to provide up-to-date information and resources on our website.
If you’re a Chamber member, you will also still be able to receive this content through our weekly e-newsletter, The BEAM. Please contact Erik Greenfield to sign up for The BEAM if you’re not currently receiving it.
If you are not currently a Chamber member but have appreciated our work during this time, we hope you will consider joining. Your support helps your business and our collective work to accelerate Greater Madison’s economic recovery. Please contact Nikki Javurek to learn more.
Finally, be well, do good, take care of each other and, if you haven’t already, get vaccinated. Thank you for reading."
