John received his formal beer brewing training while receiving an Associates in Brewing Technology at the Siebel Institute in Chicago. From 2013 to 2018, John managed the Brew and Grow on Williamson St in Madison WI. While there, John taught brewing classes and provided expertise regarding equipment, ingredients, and brewing technique to both amateur and professional brewers throughout Madison and the surrounding area. In 2018, John switched full-time to supporting the development and opening of Union Corners Brewery.
As for brewing style, John takes a very scientific approach to creating clean, sessionable beers while exploring forgotten or underappreciated beer styles from all over the world. Whether its one of our own flagship beers, or a Community Brew based on an idea submission from a customer, John applies his wealth of beer knowledge using this same methodical technique.
